American Red Cross Tiffany Circle Summit Events Weekend

On May 17-18, 2013, The American Red Cross Tiffany Circle Summit Commenced for its 7th year of events across Washington, DC. Now in our fourth year of planning this whirlwind weekend of events, The Webster Group came together to manage transportation, registration, décor, production, and overall event management for a jam-packed schedule, which included two dinners, a luncheon, a brunch and a high tea, as well as numerous breakout sessions, all covering six separate Washington, DC-area locations.

The Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders and Philanthropists is an organization within the Red Cross comprised of women from across North American who invest $10,000 or more annually in their local Red Cross Chapters. This society is named for the beautiful Tiffany windows in the Board of Governors Hall at the Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, DC, which were produced by the Tiffany Studios and commissioned by Red Cross President Mabel Boardman in 1917.

Because of the number of events that the same guests would be participating in over this two-day period, The Webster Group staff was careful to make the experience at each event unique and different by varying the catering selection and color palate. Friday night’s sunset-themed dinner on the Rooftop Terrace of 101 Constitution overlooking the Capitol Building was near perfect with a warm, clear night and keynote address by author and historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.

But it was the Chairman’s Dinner at the National Building Museum on Saturday evening that really perfected the weekend. Our Great Gatsby theme and entertainment provided by country music star and 2013 Celebrity Apprentice winner Trace Adkins were only topped by National Philanthropy Chair, Melanie Sabelhaus, who persuaded more than 10 Tiffany Circle members to become Silver members during an impromptu session at the end of the evening. This means that over $1,000,000 will be given to the Red Cross from these women over the next 10 years. Nobody was expecting that!

It’s no surprise that both our client and guests proclaimed this to be the best Tiffany Circle Summit yet.
