International Journalists Gather for the 9th ICFJ Awards Dinner

On November 7, 2013, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) welcomed over 500 guests including journalists, media professionals and industry supporters to the annual ICFJ Awards Dinner at the Ronald Regan Building in Washington, DC.

The ICFJ Awards Dinner honors the achievements of journalists who have risked their lives report ground-breaking stories with tremendous impact. This year marked the 9th year that ICFJ has held this awards dinner and the 29th year for the International Center for Journalists. The ICFJ advances quality journalism worldwide through hands-on programs, which combine the best professional practices with new technologies.

The inspiring program was hosted by Master of Ceremonies Wolf Blitzer of CNN, ICFJ chairman, Michael Golden, and president, Joyce Barnathan, and a powerful keynote address by Nicholas Kristof, columnist for The New York Times. In a special tribute video, Secretary of State John Kerry praised the 2013 ICFJ award honorees. This year, the event introduced a moonlight desert reception sponsored by Bloomberg following the dinner. Guests enjoyed the musical stylings of Nobody’s Business, whose members are fittingly, all professional journalists.

The Webster Group coordinated with the event sponsors regarding marketing opportunities and sponsorship benefits, handled speaker management, floral, catering, transportation, and called the show, managing all onsite production elements.
