Jacob’s Cure: TWG Goes to New York City

TWG is back from the Big Apple with a big smile and a successful gala under our belt. What a fabulous way to kick-off our gala event season! Jacob’s CureThe Dream Big Gala” honoring Donny Deutsch was a huge success with lots of style, music and most importantly, inspiration. The TODAY show co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb did an amazing job as the night’s emcees. Looking fabulous and full of laughs – they were a great team to work with!

The evening’s decor was a balance of modern chic with a classic twist. The Cipriani Wall Street rolled out the hot pink carpet up the front steps and our bold floral arrangements were produced by Nancy’s “Swiezy” Flowers.

The pink lighting and New York’s premiere DJ Jus-ske not only energized the room, but gave what’s normally considered a “traditional venue,” a contemporary feel.

Jacob’s Cure is a non profit organization founded by Jordana Holovach, to save her son, Jacob, who was diagnosed with Canavan disease at six months old. Canavan disease is a rare genetic neurological disorder in which children, typically infants develop seizures, lose their ability to see and swallow, and die in the first decade of life. Funding from last week’s gala will support a research grant in Donny Deutsch’s name for Dr. Gao’s groundbreaking I.V. gene-therapy in Canavan disease at the University of Massachusetts. The work is already showing strong indications towards a possible treatment.

With head-sets and radios already back on the charger (you don’t know how many guests ask if we’re with secret service), we are ready for the Lupus Foundation of America’s Butterfly Gala in Washington DC tonight! Stay tuned….
