The evening began with a 6:00 pm reception, followed by dinner and program at 7:00 pm. The program recognized the recipients of the Colonel Martha “Maggie” Raye Award, all who have contributed significantly to the quality of life of our soldiers and their families within their respective five Special Forces groups and two National Guard Units. The Trust also presented the Ross Perot Award for Military Philanthropic Leadership to Captain Ivan Castro, the only blind officer serving in the U.S. Army Special Forces. Entertainment was provided by Melissa Gomez, lead vocalist for the American Military Spouses Choir and an “America’s Got Talent” quarterfinalist.

Proceeds from this dinner will enable the Special Forces Charitable Trust to continue a number of critical programs including: Education and Motivation Programs which provide merit-based scholarships for children of active duty Special Forces personnel and spouses; Family and Command Support Programs, which assist financially with extraordinary family medical needs and emergencies, support for command services for Green Berets who lose their lives in combat or training, assistance with special family needs during deployment and Veterans, Advocacy and Heritage Programs, which help family of recovered MIA brothers find closure as well as assisting Special Forces veterans with VA claims.

The Webster Group team worked on a number of fundraising and production elements for this event. TWG staff created and implemented a fundraising strategy, developed sponsorship documents and coordinated all printed materials (save-the-date, invite, and program). On the production side, our staff managed the entertainment, as well as all of the vendors (florist, A/V, photographer, scriptwriter, graphic designer and printers), and handled all of the production aspects the day of the event.
