Gotham Hall, a popular event venue in New York City, is located in the heart of Manhattan’s Midtown. The building was constructed in the 1920’s as the headquarters of the Greenwich Savings Bank, and features classical revival style architecture with art deco elements interspersed throughout the interior, including a seven-story grand vaulted dome. Today, the main banking room and some of the smaller executive offices and boardrooms are available for rental as event space.
The Grand Ballroom is the principal space used for events, and former main banking room. The ballroom is a large, striking room with inlaid marble floors, granite walls and soaring solid limestone Corinthian columns at each end of the room. The most interesting and unique elements of the room though are its shape and the ceiling. The entire room is oval shaped topped with the gilded, stained glass dome covering much of the ceiling. The ceiling dome covers 3,000 square feet and features a massive chandelier hanging from its center. The ballroom can accommodate up to 800 guests at a reception, or more than 600 seated banquet style, depending on the staging used.
Additional smaller rooms at Gotham Hall are available, including the Mezzanine and Mezzanine Green Room, the Oak Room and the Lounge. The Mezzanine area, located upstairs at the far end of the ballroom behind the columns overlooks the grand ballroom. The Mezzanine can accommodate 300 at a reception or 50 seated banquet style. This space is perfect for a pre or post-event VIP reception or banquet area, or as additional seating space to the grand ballroom. The Mezzanine Green Room, a former executive office at the bank, is located just off the Mezzanine and features oak panel walls, an Italian tiled floor and a fireplace. This space is ideal for a green room, as the name suggests, or an intimate, private event space.

The oak room is another traditional, classic style room with oak paneled walls, intricate molding and a fireplace. It also features hand forged wrought iron window grates on hand blown glass windows. The room can accommodate 65 guests at a reception or up to 50 seated.
Lastly, the Lounge, located on the same floor and adjacent to the Grand Ballroom, is an ideal space for a reception of up to 150 guests, green room area or even as a registration area. It features a built-in bar and with access directly to the ballroom, is great for transitioning from a reception to dinner or as a private entrance into the ballroom for VIPs.
