Venue Insights: Nationals Park

This summer, TWG was invited to Nationals Park for a tour of all of the event spaces the park has to offer. After the tour, the park’s events team invited TWG and other industry professionals who took the tour to watch a game and sample some of the best items on their catering menu.

Unfortunately the game was rained out, but we still got to enjoy some delicious hors d ’oeuvres and were offered a chance to come back and enjoy another game.

Nationals Park has many unique and exclusive spaces that can be rented and used for all types of events – from meetings to weddings to corporate retreats to concerts. Groups and events of all sizes can host events at the park without feeling overwhelmed or crowded. Small suites in the stadium can be rented for intimate gatherings or the entire field can be used to host an event! The park even has a Conference Center with a large meeting room that can hold up to 350 guests at a reception, and four smaller breakout rooms.

The park has a variety of spaces unknown to many that are available for events. Some of the more unique spaces include:

The Lexus Presidents Club – located behind home plate, this club can be used to host an event for up to 350. The club provides an exclusive, comfortable setting for events with its cherry wood-covered walls, custom chandeliers and an “Oval Office” Bar. One of the most exciting features in the club is a close up, overhead view of the Nationals’ batting cages.

The Norfolk Southern Club – the largest indoor space at the park, the entire club area can accommodate up to 1,000 guests at a standing reception. The space is actually divided into two separate areas – the first-base side and the third-base side. It features granite bars on each side and large two-story windows offering river and monument views throughout. The club spaces are also connected to the Private Suites which can be used as additional space, green rooms or VIP areas.

Club 24 – a new take on stadium suites, Club 24 is a converted suite space which features six intimate four-person booths and private four-person outdoor boxes. The tables and corresponding boxes are reserved during games like a typical stadium suite, but the whole club is available to be used as event space. The club décor is a 1920s speakeasy style – a popular trend in the event world.

Nationals Clubhouse – available anytime during the off-season, the Nationals Clubhouse can be used to hold a small reception or seated event, or as an exclusive experience for guests or VIPs at your event. See Clubhouse photos here.

In addition to the array of event spaces available, Nationals Park also offers a variety of activities and services to enhance your event and the guest experience such as on-field and indoor batting practice, behind-the-scenes tours, mascot appearances (Screech or the Racing Presidents!) and video board messaging packages, which can include your messaging on the scoreboard and HDTVs throughout the entire park.
