EVENT OVERVIEW
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency sponsored RTM included discussions on energy storage, smart grid, and energy efficiency. In addition, the RTM highlighted U.S. companies’ technology and service offerings in the areas of energy storage, smart grid, and energy efficiency.
EVENT SUMMARY
The USTDA India Energy Storage and Smart Grid RTM started on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in San Francisco, CA. It ended on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Washington, DC.
In San Francisco, CA, the delegation arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and took a mini bus to their hotel. After a short refresh and some food, we held a short orientation program with them in the hotel conference room to go over the logistics for the RTM, the RTM itinerary, and information about the energy storage and smart grid sector in the U.S. On Thursday morning, the day began with a meeting at the California Public Utility Commission. After the short meeting, the next stop of the day was at California Independent System Operator Corporation (CAISO) before making the final stop at the California Energy Commission. Friday started off with delegates loading the bus for the much-anticipated meeting with Pacific Gas and Electric. We then went over to San Ramon for a lunchtime meeting with GE, before the final stop in Union City with Amber Kinetics. After the final meeting, the delegates returned to the hotel and were ready to enjoy a relaxing weekend in San Francisco. Monday began with a meeting with Primus Power. The next stop was a mid-day meeting with Auto Grid, and the day concluded with a meeting and a short tour at NEXTracker. That evening, the delegation participated in a networking reception at Squire Patton Boggs. On Tuesday morning to the delegation travelled to Washington, DC.
