EVENT SUMMARY
The Webster Group (TWG) was contracted by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) to plan and manage this two-day workshop in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire in March 2024. This workshop was organized by USTDA in collaboration with the Capital Markets Department of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB). It brought together U.S. and African project development and financing stakeholders to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and catalyze partnerships to mobilize financing for green and sustainable infrastructure projects across Africa; financing models that the USTDA, AfDB, and other leading institutions are deploying to bring sustainable infrastructure projects to fruition were discussed. Workshop sessions included topics such as green bonds, U.S. and African institutional investors’ perspectives on green financing opportunities, building enabling environments, the role of green and sustainable finance driving new technology development, financing infrastructure for climate change adaptation and mitigation. In addition, a Green and Sustainable Solutions Showcase Expo was open throughout the Workshop featuring several relevant vendors and organizations.
